The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara is seated on a triple lotus base in the padmasana or the full lotus seated position.  He has 18 arms that hold a variety of objects inlcuding healing medicines, flowers, a sword, umbrella, bells and a water vessel.  He has two hands resting in his lap holding a palm leaf book.  Two hands are clasp in front of his chest with the hand on the left side having his middle finger pointing towards the sky.  He wears a crown with an Amida Buddha on each one of the 5 tabs of the crown.
In the Buddhist pantheon, Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara is revered as the personification of compassion.  Avalokiteshvara may be the most popular of all Buddhist deities, with the exception of Lord Buddha himself -- he is beloved throughout the Buddhist world.   The Dalai Lamas and Karmapas are believed to be emanations of Avalokiteshvara.  The Tibetan name for Avalokiteshvara is Chenrzig.

I always say to our customers; The sculpture chooses you, you do not choose the sculpture.
You just know when you find the right piece to bring into your home and into your heart.

Avalokiteshvara is a bodhisattva from Mahayana Buddhism that is known for embodying the compassion of all Buddhas. He is typically depicted with eleven heads, representing his ability to hear the cries of the world, and one thousand arms, representing his ability to help those in need.

Bronze statues from China do not need much maintenance. They are durable and strong! Most statues have black felt on the bottom of them to protect the surface they sit on. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. These statues are mostly small and meant for indoor use.

You can use a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

You can use a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup. If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair.
