Statue Details
Materials: Oil on Canvas Painted in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Total Height Including Base: 40 inches or 102 cms
Base Width & Depth: 24 x 1.5 inches
- The artist, Kittisak "Mark" Sriboonrod combines bright colors to Temple landscapes of Thailand with open white spaces which he calls Templescapes
- The Templescapes are filled with classic architecture of Buddhist Thai temples as well as monks wrapped in their saffron robes walking throughout the painting
- The empty spaces are a key feature of Kittisak's paintings allowing the viewer to excercise their imagination and input personal imagery from their own travels into the painting
- One can imagine a busy street scene in front of the temple or the sun reflecting off a flowing river
- Each painting is one of a kind work of art, signed and dated by the artist
About the artist: Kittisak lives and works in Chiang Mai, Thailand where he also attended art school. He is married with 2 children.
