Statue Details
Materials: Chinese Pure White Porcelain made in Xiamen, China
Total Height Including Base: 15 inches or 38 cms
Base Width & Depth: 11 x 10 inches
Weight: Statue 11 pounds or 5 kgs With Box 17 pounds or 8 kgs
- The Amida Buddha statue, the Buddha of Infinite Light is seated upon a stunning 3 tiered blooming lotus flower in the full lotus or padmasana seated position
- His right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra of protection with his left hand facing open, palm upwards in the varada mudra or boon granting gesture
- There is a swastika symbol on his chest which is a symbol for auspiciousness or good luck
- This Buddha statue comes in its own custom carrying case, beautifully wrapped in Chinese fabric
The Japanese style Amida Buddha is seated in the full lotus position or the padmasana. Amida Buddha is the Buddha of Infinite Light. He has a large protuberance on the top of his head called an ushnishna. At the base of the ushnishna is a smaller bump called the Nikkeishū or the Nikkei Jewel which "radiates the light of wisdom". There is a third eye or urna on his forehead that emitts rays of light and symbolizes that the Buddha is all-seeing.
His right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra of protection with his left hand facing open, palm upwards in the varada mudra or boon granting gesture. His robe covers both his sholders leaving his chest open. There is a swatika symbol on his chest which is a symbol for auspiciousness or good luck. Perhaps the most beautiful quality of this entire sculpture is the stunning 3 tiered blooming lotus flower that the Buddha is seated upon. Simply Divine!
