Introducing an awe-inspiring embodiment of serenity and strength: our tall Vietnamese hardwood statue of Kwan Yin, a beacon of compassion, intricately juxtaposed with mighty, intertwining dragons, crafted meticulously to convey a narrative of harmonious coexistence between divine gentleness and formidable power.

Kwan Yin, draped in elegantly flowing robes and adorned with spiritually potent malas, gracefully releases the celestial nectar of life from her vase, an act beautifully symbolic of boundless compassion, healing, and spiritual nourishment, cascading down toward the beings below. Her gentle demeanor and the subtle, yet resolute, vitarka mudra (teaching gesture) of her right hand quietly whisper teachings of mercy and benevolence to all who gaze upon her.

Beneath her, three dynamically sculpted dragons, synonymous with strength, protection, and auspicious power in Asian mythology, emerge from tempestuous waves, creating a swirling base that is both visually and symbolically potent. Two of these majestic beings lean upwards, partaking of Kwan Yin's life-giving nectar, while the central dragon commands attention with its forward stance, intriguingly featuring a freely moving ball within its intricately carved jaws - a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship involved in bringing this sculpture to life.

Upon Kwan Yin's head, the tiny figure of Amitabha Buddha nestles within her bun, adding an extra layer of spiritual depth and narrative to the piece, illustrating her deep connection to enlightened beings and her unwavering vow to aid all sentient beings in their journey toward enlightenment.

This spiritual tableau brings to life the profound symbiosis of Kwan Yin's merciful, nurturing nature and the dragons' potent, protective energy, inviting a balanced, harmonious atmosphere into your surroundings. It stands not merely as a statue but as a visual mantra, constantly reiterating the possibilities of coexisting strength and gentleness, might and mercy, power and compassion in your personal spiritual practice and daily life.

Adopt this Vietnamese hardwood statue of Kwan Yin and the dragons into your space, inviting a cascade of compassion, protection, and balanced strength to permeate every corner of your existence, creating an environment where benevolence and power coalesce in a splendid, eternal dance.

About Kwan Yin: Kwan Yin (also spelled Kuan Yin or Quan Yin), is known as the Goddess of Compassion, and she is one of the most popular deities in all of Asia. Her name in Chinese roughly translates to "The One who Hears the Cries of the World". Many believe that she is the female representation of Avalokitesvara, who is the Tibetan and Nepalese God of Compassion. As a bodhisattva, she has chosen to put off her complete attainment of enlightenment for the benefit of beings everywhere, and she will wait as long as there is one being who is not enlightened.

Kwan Yin (also spelled Kuan Yin, Quan Yin or Guan Yin), is known as the Goddess of Compassion, and she is one of the most popular deities in all of Asia. Her name in Chinese roughly translates to "The One Who hears the Cries of the World". Many believe that she is the female representation of Avalokiteshvara, the Tibetan and Nepalese God of Compassion. The use of a wood polish will keep the wood looking fresh and the colors vibrant.

Wood statues are easy to take care of as they just need some annual upkeep to keep them looking as they did when they were first carved. All the wood used by Lotus Sculpure's artists is dried out for months. Moisture causes cracks in the sculpture as the wood contracts and expands in different temperatures. Our wood has little to no moisture in it assuring that the sculpture is not going to crack in its journey into different climates. Here are some simple tips to keep your statue in good condition:

  • Dust the statue as needed to prevent dirt build up
  • To make the statue shine use a natural wood cleaner and a cotton cloth to buff the sculpture

We prefer Old English to polish and buff our statues. The use of a wood polish like Old English will keep the wood looking fresh and keep the colors looking vibrant. For natural wood and painted wooden statues we recommend Old English for lighter woods. For darker wood statues we recommend Old English for darker woods. Lotus Sculpture cleans and polishes each wooden statue prior to shipping them to the customer.

We recommend keeping wooden statues in an indoor environment. Wood statues can go outside however, they will wear more quickly and develop an antique appearance. If you would like to put a wood statue from Lotus Sculpture outside and keep the same appearance of the sculpture we would recommend first coating the statue with a couple of layers of sealant or polyurethane. We would then recommend placing the statue in a partially covered area. The more exposure to the elements the more the statue will wear over time. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions regarding your wooden statue from Lotus Sculpture, (760) 994-4455 or [email protected].
